MERRY MAKERS

Precarious

This corner brew pub in CW’s Merchants Square is a magnet for locals and college students, alike.  With its factory floor vibe, live music, pinball machines, and food-truck-style taco bar inside, Precarious serves up a wonderful atmosphere.  The bar menu is limited but fantastic (wings, nachos, and street corn in addition to the aforementioned tacos made with homemade tortillas).  The beer selection is stellar, with a large variety of lagers, stouts, IPAs and saisons on tap.

Casual picnic table style indoor seating; outdoor seating around a firepit.

Amber Ox

Under the same ownership as Precarious (hey, it’s a small town) Amber Ox is a brew pub and restaurant rolled into one.  Located near Merchants square, this is a great stop for good food served in a casual atmosphere.  Per Hannah’s local cousin:  “The biscuit boards are great, the burger is amazing, and the ham board is also incredible.  Saturday and Sunday brunches are very tasty with different variations of Eggs Benedict, etc.”

Hounds Tale

A casual, bistro type restaurant, this is a great place to enjoy drinks and a wide variety of tapas style small plates in a convivial and noisy atmosphere.  The food is delicious – appetizers like deviled eggs and flatbreads are meant to be shared.  You can’t go wrong with the fish and chips, pulled pork sandwich or the Wagyu burger for heartier fare.

Social Terrace, Williamsburg Inn

Enjoy your cocktail on the luxurious, but relaxed, Social Terrace of the iconic Williamsburg Inn.  The gorgeous bluestone terrace offers comfortable seating around gas firepits overlooking the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course.  This is where Queen Elizabeth enjoys her wine when viewing her former colonies.  Top notch service, live music on weekends, dog friendly.
